UC Davis launches new degree audit system for students, advisors

Undergraduate students and advisors can now access the new uAchieve Degree Audit to track students’ academic progress toward degree completion. 

The new system is the result of a four-year project by the Office of the University Registrar in partnership with the undergraduate colleges and Information and Educational Technology. Degree audit systems track students’ academic progress by comparing a program’s academic requirements against students’ completed and registered courses, transfer coursework and credit by examination. The uAchieve Degree Audit replaces two legacy systems, the student-facing MyDegree and the degree certification audit in the Online Advising Student Information System, known as OASIS. 

According to University Registrar Brian R. Hodge, the new system will better meet the needs of both students and advisors. 

“Initial conversations began in 2021 to review multiple solutions for a single degree audit system. Going live with this new system is a tremendous achievement for all project participants,” he said. “Academic advisors and other partners worked closely with us to reach this milestone. This project required significant effort and time and would not have been possible without great partnerships.”

With the uAchieve Degree Audit, undergraduate students can:

  • View how completed courses and in-progress courses apply to degree requirements
  • See satisfied degree requirements 
  • Identify unfulfilled requirements 
  • Run What If audits to see how courses would apply to changes in majors or minors

The project also includes an updated degree certification interface for academic advisors and aligns with four new petitions.

The Office of the University Registrar website provides resources for advisors and students on how to use the uAchieve Degree Audit. Students can find a link to the uAchieve Degree Audit on my.ucudavis.edu under the Academics menu.
