UC Davis launches new degree audit system
uAchieve Degree Audit coming this summer!
Degree audit systems track students’ academic progress toward degree completion by comparing a program’s academic requirements against students’ completed and registered courses, transfer coursework, and credit by examination. When the uAchieve Degree Audit launches this summer, it replaces two legacy systems, the student-facing MyDegree and the degree certification audit in OASIS, an advising tool.
With the new degree audit, students and advisors can track progress toward degree completion, run “what-if” audits to see how courses apply to other programs and easily navigate degree requirements.
This implementation also includes an updated degree certification interface and is aligned with four new petitions. uAchieve does not replace OASIS, only its degree audit and certification functions. Implementation began in late 2023 with the go live scheduled for summer 2026.
Background and sponsors
The uAchieve degree audit system was selected after a comprehensive search and review with the university community. In 2021, the Office of the University Registrar launched a discussion with the undergraduate colleges and Information and Educational Technology about the need for a new degree audit system to meet the growing needs of our large and complex university.
The Office of the University Registrar, Information and Educational Technology, undergraduate colleges and Graduate Studies reviewed multiple degree audit solutions and selected uAchieve, by CollegeSource.

Quarterly updates
- March 26, 2026
- Meaningful progress in uAchieve Degree Audit encoding was made over the winter term. The Office of the University Registrar completed all major advisor engagements. Minors were also fully encoded and tested. We conducted student feedback sessions, which provided insights used to refine the design and functionality of the audit system. Requests for automatic exceptions were submitted for approval, with next steps focused on multiple major encoding, continued development of training materials for students and staff, validating system functionality, and continued advising outreach.
The project is currently in the user acceptance testing phase for tangential petitions with undergraduate academic advisors. The technical and business teams are working on go-live planning for the release of the uAchieve Degree Audit and related application changes. - Dec. 16, 2025
- Significant progress continues on the uAchieve degree audit project. The Office of the University Registrar, or OUR, completed the initial encoding for all 138 major programs and 118 minors spanning the 2018-2025 catalogs. The team onboarded 138 advisors from the deans' offices and major departments, whose insights helped refine the design and functionality of the audit system. Next steps include engagements for minors, completing encoding for multiple major audits, and incorporating feedback from anticipated student review sessions.
The development team is implementing the updated degree certification process. The Office of the Registrar and technical teams now conduct a system test of the new and updated OASIS forms. The user acceptance testing phase, involving advisors and students, is scheduled to begin in early 2026. - Sept. 30, 2025
- The Office of the University Registrar, or OUR, completed uAchieve encoding of 115 major programs and engaged 105 advisors from the deans' offices and major departments. Additionally, the team completed 75% of the encoding of the 2025-26 catalog. Encoding for double majors, minors and NCAA regulations are also in process.
The Enterprise Student Applications team completed the initial development work on the new Automatic and Individual Exception petitions. OUR conducted initial testing and provided feedback for the team's review. - July 24, 2025
- As of the end of the spring term, the Office of the University Registrar completed encoding for 101 academic programs. The team collaborated with major advisors from over 40 programs. Currently, 87 dean’s office and major advisors are actively testing within the uAchieve system. Work began on encoding for the 2025–26 academic catalog. The uAchieve Advisory Committee continues to review new requests and provide strategic guidance to ensure consistency in format and functionality across all colleges.
The Enterprise Student Applications development team completed the Change of Program Petition and began work on the new exception petitions. - March 27, 2025
- The Office of the University Registrar, or OUR, encoded 30 programs this quarter, increasing the total number of programs available in uAchieve system to 78. Major reviews were conducted with advisors to assess the encoding and test the functionality of 45 programs to date. The uAchieve advisory committee remains instrumental in the project's progress: shaping the formatting standards, managing major advisor requests and overseeing access controls. In collaboration with deans' offices, OUR actively engaged in outreach efforts to keep major advisors informed and prepared regarding the project's progress. The vendor continues to make consistent advancements in addressing customization requests and resolving reported issues.
The new Change of Program petition and Graduation Application development nears completion with testing to begin next quarter. Discussions with the colleges about the processing of exceptions also occurred and work begins soon on this initiative. Finally, OASIS and Banner integration work began to ensure consistent and timely data exchange. - Jan. 16, 2025
- The Office of the University Registrar successfully encoded 48 majors as part of its ongoing efforts to develop the uAchieve system. To date, 19 major engagements were conducted to ensure alignment with university standards and advisor needs. Two contract employees were onboarded to assist with the encoding and formatting audits, helping to streamline the process and ensure accuracy. The team continues to work closely with the advisory group to identify and resolve issues, incorporating feedback from the advisor community to improve workflows. Additionally, ongoing collaboration with the vendor is focused on addressing complex policy requirements and expansion.
- Sept. 30, 2024
- The Office of the University Registrar completed its engagement with the college academic advisors. The team continued work with the uAchieve vendor, CollegeSource, to implement formatting and requirement changes to university and college requirements. Work continues on encoding the first group of 12 majors. After conducting Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with advisors, more than 50 future state changes for the degree certification process and curricula updates were identified. The first set of requirements related to the Online Graduation Application was passed to the application development team and is currently in development.
- June 20, 2024
- The Office of the University Registrar continued to meet with college academic advisors to review the audit encoding of university, college, and General Education requirements throughout the spring. Many issues were resolved with a few still being reviewed by CollegeSource, the parent company of uAchieve. The Enrollment Management Strategic Technologies Initiatives staff led six joint application design sessions with about 24 academic advisors, the Office of the University Registrar, and Enterprise Student Applications to collect requirements for degree certification, academic exception processing, and other matters connected with the project.
- May 21, 2024
- Engagements with academic advisors began during the winter 2024 term. College-designated deans' offices advisors began work with the Office of the University Registrar on the overall structure of the audit and confirming the encoding of the General Education requirements. Concurrently, Enrollment Management’s Strategic Technology Initiative team launched engagements with college-designated advisors to document degree certification processes, handling degree exceptions (waivers and substitutions), and updating students’ curriculum (majors, minors, academic options).
